Killing Floor Updated Again

A non required update for Killing Floor has been released for both Windows and Linux dedicated servers. This update fixes an issue with perks sometimes not being accumulated on whitelisted maps, and sometimes accumulating on non-whitelisted maps. Additionally, the update adds many more custom maps to the whitelist of maps which will allow perk earning. This update is automatically applied for clients.

Killing Floor Updated!

An update to Killing Floor has been released and will be downloaded automatically through Steam. The update includes improvements, bug fixes, exploit fixes, as well as addressing some of the balance issues we have discovered with the Perk system since the release. Additionally, there is less than a month left until the deadline for Wave 1 of the “Killing Floor Grindhouse” custom map making competition. Tripwire’s $20,000 Killing Floor Grindhouse Mapping Contest

Tripwire Interactive announces the “Killing Floor Grindhouse” Custom Map Making Competition with $20,000-worth of prizes. Tripwire are partnering with Nvidia and Logitech to bring you a truly spectacular mapping contest for the zombie-slaughtering co-op hit that is Killing Floor. We put the game out at a recession-friendly price, there have already been hundreds of custom maps created, so here is the Tripwire economic stimulus package to follow up: the headline prize will be an awesome $10,000 for the Grand Prize winner.

The contest will run in two Waves. Wave 1 completes July 31, 2009, with a First Prize of $5,000 for the winner, while the runners-up will get prizes including Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies. Wave 2 is the Big One, completing September 18, 2009. The Grand Prize will be $10,000. Yes, a full Ten Thousand Dollars for the winning entry! There will be more Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies for runners-up in Wave 2.

Tripwire Interactive announces Killing Floor, a survival-horror co-op shooter for PC!

Roswell, GA, March 20th 2009 – Tripwire Interactive is proud to announce Killing Floor, due for release over Steam in the near future. Killing Floor is a first-person co-op survival horror, set in and around London after a mad scientist’s “specimens” have broken loose and gone on the rampage.

  • Co-op game mode for up to six players obliterating multiple waves of specimens
  • Solo game mode for offline play
  • Watch those crucial and violent creature deaths in slomo “ZEDtime”, even in multiplayer
  • 9 different monster types trying to eat your face off, armed with everything from teeth and claws, through to chainsaws, chainguns and rocket-launchers
  • 12+ weapons for the players to chose from, ranging from knives and fire-axes up to pump shotguns, rifles and a flamethrower
  • Add in a welder, medical tools and body armor to help the players survive
  • Persistent Perks system, allowing players to convert their in-game achievements into permanent improvements to their character’s skills and abilities
  • Players choose which Perks to play with, so they can best balance out a co-op team to survive the horrors
  • Open, non-linear play areas: choose when and where to fight – or run; weld doors closed to try and direct the monster horde
  • Full support for Steamworks features, including Steam Achievements and Friends
  • Fully-configurable, allowing players to change things as simple as the difficulty level or number of creature waves, or go so far as to set up their own favorite waves of monsters
  • Includes SDK for the creation of new levels and mods
