We are happy to announce the start of the Killing Floor Twisted Christmas event today, running through 4th January 2011. This is a huge update for the game, along with the promised Team Fortress 2 Pyro character cross-over AND a new DLC character pack for Killing Floor! To celebrate the release of all these goodies, Killing Floor will be on sale on Steam from today through Thursday 16th December, at a 66% discount. The Killing Floor fans have been getting in the spirit with their “Floormas Carols” on the forums (HERE), so we thought we’d throw out some bad poetry of our own:

• Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the game
• Lots of creatures were stirring, but they weren’t quite the same
• No more were there seen roaming zombies and specimens
• They had all been replaced by some foul Christmas denizens
• With gingerbread baddies and eight legged reindeer
• Jack Frost, Robo Santa and their helpers now spread fear
• But fear not, for you have some new help on your quest
• Team Fortress 2’s Pyro is a new special guest
• And we heard him mumble, ‘ere she walked out of sight
• “Mmmn arghhnn nmmmnn grrrmn lllrrfggh ggrighft”
• Which, when roughly translated, we think means:
• “Twisted Christmas to all, and to all a good-fright!”

Christmas is coming early for Killing Floor fans, with the massive Twisted Christmas event starting next week, just in time for the holidays. Featuring Christmas themed specimens replacing all of the regular baddies, a brand new level – Santa’s Evil Lair, Christmas themed achievements with a special unlockable character, an all new difficultly level and loads of new achievements this is THE gaming event of the holiday season. And if a pile of free content wasn’t enough for you, the Killing Floor crew have enlisted the help of a special guest to battle these Yule-tide baddies – Team Fortress 2’s Pyro. And the sharing doesn’t end there as the Pyro will be bringing back a special Killing Floor item to TF2 with him – Mr. Foster’s trademark gas mask and business tie!

We have pushed out an update for Killing Floor bringing it to version 1015. The change log is as follow:

• Fixed the MAC-10 third person sounds.
• Fixed an issue where money was doubled at the end of a wave
• Fixed a server exploit

This is a required update for Killing Floor, if you are a server admin you must run the hldsupdatetool to get the latest version of the Killing Floor server to remain compatible with clients.

And the KF character is Harchier Spebbington, the famous archeologist and hero of The Ball, transported to the Killing Floor universe – lucky for you, less so for him! Tripwire Interactive President to Appear on CROSSHAIRS Webcast

This Saturday, 16^th October, at 3pm EST, Tripwire Interactive President John “Ramm-Jaeger” Gibson will be making a special appearance on the CROSSHAIRS webcast. CROSSHAIRS is BASHandSlash.com’s live talk show. Its goal is to provide a medium for gamers to exchange their views on all the highly charged FPS subjects of the day. Topics for discussion include Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, Killing Floor and whatever else the CROSSHAIRS hosts throw at him.
